This picture above shows a scene of the officers from the film 'Minority Report'.
it is a medium close up this shot type allows the viewers to see the emotion on there faces
in this picture you can see the fear as well as anger in the officers faces.
As well as just seeing the officers you can see a little bit of background which gives the viewers some type of incite into where the scene is set.

This picture above shows a scene of a crash the wide shot type allows the viewers  to see the location and the damage the car has.
The purpose of using a wide shot is so that the viewers can see everything that is going on around the main subject .
Why is it dark ? maybe because they are somewhere that the shouldn't be that usually causes the viewers the be let confused and wanting the carry on watching the film so they can see what happens next.
The picture above shows the main character in a close up shot.
the close up shot was used so that the audience could see the expression on his face, the expression show is confusedness and maybe guilt.
